When Heaven Says ‘Well Done’

We chase validation from others, but God’s the only one who sees it all.

Anchor of the Week

"God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them."
— Hebrews 6:10 (NIV)

Who Are You Really Trying to Impress?

Most of us crave acknowledgment. A kind word. A little credit. Some of us even want applause. We want people to see our efforts and validate them. We want to make sure others think we’re doing a good job.

But here’s the gut check: Are we working for recognition from the world, or from God? One of them fades quickly, forcing us to always chase another way to level up, to impress more people. The other, however, echoes into eternity. God doesn’t care how many people clapped at your board meeting. He cares who helps others in their time of need; He cares who turns to Him for guidance. Proverbs 16:3 (NIV)
“Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”

God sees the things nobody claps for. He remembers what others forget. Every quiet act of obedience, every prayer you whispered for someone else, every time you served when no one saw. He does. Matthew 6:4 (NIV)
“So that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”

Obedience to God isn’t about likes, shares, or comments. It’s about trust. It’s about saying “yes” to Him, even when it costs you—especially when it costs you.

This Week’s Meditation

If you haven’t already, listen to God’s Promises, one of our most encouraging meditations for when you need to remember that you are seen by the only One who matters. It’s perfect for winding down and remembering God’s eternal love and faithfulness in our lives. Peaceful, scripture-soaked, and only 10 minutes.

Biblical Story: Moses Felt Forgotten

Moses gave up everything he had. His title, comfort, and reputation. He obeyed God’s commands and led a bunch of stubborn people through the wilderness for 40 years. And yet, over and over again, Moses was overlooked, complained about, and dismissed.

But not by God.

God met Moses face to face. God chose him to carry out one of the greatest callings in all of history. When Moses thought he had failed, God buried him with His own hands.

The world may forget your name. But Heaven never will.

Prayer for the Week

Heavenly Father,

Remind me that You don’t miss a thing. Every hidden sacrifice, every unseen act of kindness, You’ve counted them all. Help me stop chasing recognition from others and start living for Your “well done.” Thank You for noticing, remembering, and loving me with unshakable grace.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Spiritual Practice for the Week

  • Each morning, ask: “Would I still do this if no one ever thanked me?”

  • Take five minutes of silence each day and simply say, “God, I’m still here, and I know You are too.”

  • Choose one small act of service this week and do it anonymously.

Final thoughts

We must never forget that the world’s applause will fade and eventually stop. But not one act of love done for God is ever wasted. He remembers and knows your heart. And when God remembers, it’s never passive. It’s powerful. So keep showing up, keep doing the right thing, even when no one sees, because He always does.

The other day, my dear friend Catherine sent me a worship song from a band I’d never heard of before, and wow, they’re phenomenal! I love sharing things that speak to my soul, especially when they lift us up in faith, offer real encouragement, and point us back to Jesus. I hope you’ll check them out and be just as blessed. God bless you,
